Hi, I’m Komal!
Education & Experience
I have a Master of Information from the University of Toronto specializing in User Experience Design and Data Science with a Bachelor's in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour (HBSc) from McMaster.
I have 5+ years of experience with user experience design and research. I currently work as a Senior Service Designer for the Government of Alberta. My past roles include working as a UX Consultant for KPMG and a Service Designer for the University of Toronto Libraries (UTL).
I leverage my background in behavioural psychology, design and research to help clients develop products, services, and experiences that are grounded in end-user and business needs.
What has prompted me to work in UX?
The human mind and its interactions with the world have always fascinated me. During my undergrad, I conducted research in clinical, academic, and industry settings which helped deepen my passion for evidence-based practices and creating meaning out of data. However, I've always wanted to apply my behavioural psychology expertise in an industry setting which is how I stumbled across UX. The analytical thinking, creative problem solving, and human-centered approach combined are what made me fall in love with UX as a discipline.
